A little more about me

 "My adventure started when my mum baked a cake and asked me to decorate it, little did I know that from that day on I would be baking for a living."

My love of baking has been passed down from my mum... as a child I remember her making the best birthday cakes, they were always imaginative and always made me and my sisters birthdays special. My adventure started when my mum baked a cake and asked me to decorate it, little did I know that from that day on I would be baking for a living. I baked for friends and family, I started with cupcakes then built up to larger cakes the more I baked the more I was being recommended and I soon realised that this wasn't just a hobby. The reason behind me wanting to bake so much was because I wanted to put a smile on peoples faces just like my mum did and still does on our birthdays.

My passion is making someone's idea into a reality no cake is too small (cupcake, cake pops) and no cake is too big (wedding cakes)! After setting up many cakes at different venues from birthdays, christening to weddings people started to ask if I did confectionary this is where the sweets/favours side was introduced, none of the candy carts sold online were special or stood out so last summer I commissioned a one off candy cart especially made for "Tada cakes by Jody" it's beautifully handcrafted and can be personalised in many different ways (glass jars, bowls, baskets, different roofs, bunting ect). I love what I do and after all the hours I put into a cake or setting up the candy cart it's all worth while just to see someone smile because of something I have created.
